SSC JE Exam is a nationwide examination which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year. This examination opens opportunities for for a candidate to becoming part of  various government departments with position of junior engineer. If you have a degree or diploma in civil, mechanical, Electrical, electronic Engineering then you can easily apply for this post.

This examination consists two parts. First part is for Computer Based Test (CBT) and second part is for descriptive test where you have to write answers on your answer sheet.

Eligibility Criteria: SSC JE Recruitment 2025

Before applying for this post, you have to check your eligibility criteria for this examination on official notification. below I am going to provide you all the aspects.

  • Civil Engineering: If you want to apply in civil engineering then you must have a degree or 3 year diploma in civil engineering from a recognised University of India.
  • Mechanical Engineering: You must need a degree or 3 year diploma in mechanical engineering from recognised University.
  •  Electrical Engineering: One who want to apply in electrical department then he must have a degree or 3 years diploma in same trade from recognised University of India.
  • Age: Age range is usually falls between 18 to 32 years.
  • For applying in Junior Engineering (Civil) maximum age is for 32 years.
  • For Electrical JE maximum age is 30 years.
  • Junior Engineering (Mechanical) maximum age is 30 years. So maximum age is different according to the departments. 
  • There is also age relaxation for reserved categories. If a candidate is from SC/ST category, he can claim age relaxation for 5 years.
  • OBC candidate can claim age relaxation for 3 years.
  • PWD (Gen) falls in age relaxation of 10 years. PWD (OBC) falls under age relaxation of 13 years.
  • PWD (SC/ST) can claim their age relaxation for 15 years and there is also Ex-Service Man age relaxation system.
  • Ex-servicemen can claim their age relaxation for 3 year.
  • Before applying in age relaxation you must have to fall in above categories and you must have a government issue document for taking age relaxation advantage.
  • Age relaxation is beneficial for one who has older than the usual age limits.

Selection Process: SSC JE Recruitment 2025

SSC JE selection process will consists three main steps:

  • Paper 1 (Computer Based Test): There will be an online examination of multiple choice questions where you will ask questions on General Intelligence, General Awareness and from your Engineering Trade.
  • Paper2 (Descriptive Test): If a candidate clear paper 1 then he will be eligible for sitting in paper 2. This will be a written examination where you have to write answers of your questions related to your engineering field (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Step 3 (Document Verification and Medical Examination): Once you clear paper 1 and paper 2 successfully, you will be call for document verification. Where you have to submit your original document submitting during online registration and after document verification you will face your medical examination where expert team of doctor will examine your health condition for the recruitment.

Exam Pattern: SSC JE Recruitment 2025

Staff Selection Commission Exam 2025 have two papers paper 1 and Paper 2:

Paper 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

In paper 1 you will get to see three subject. There will be 200 questions to solve and you will get time for 2 hours in paper 1. If you give a wrong answer then you will face 1/3 marks  Under negative marking.

How to Apply: SSC JE Recruitment 2025

The online process for applying SSC JE examination is very simple. Below is step by step road map:

  • First of all you have to go official site of SSC i.e. ssc.gov.in.
  • Click on ‘Registration Now’ to create your account. Here enter your personal details like name, phone number, email address and education qualification.
  • After entering your details you will get a OTP on your registered number and on your email address. Enter OTP to verify and login with your user id and password.
  • Now fill all the necessary details like education background, contact information and preferred exam centre.
  • Upload your recent passport size photograph and your clearly visible signature following the guidelines provided by SSC.
  • There is a fee of 100 rupees for general/OBC and EWS candidate. Here SC/ST/PWD and female candidate don’t have to pay any fees.
  • Once you filled all your information, your form will be complete after reviewing everything details, click on Submit Button to complete your application.
